Our vision is capible of processing contrast ratios up to 2,000,000:1, this is still not enough range to fully capture the range of a bright sun and a deep shadow. have you ever driven out of a dark tunnel only to have the sunny sky overpower your vision for a couple seconds? Even our eyes have dificulty capturing all the information in such harsh contrast.
