Description

TextureDesk is a simple yet extremely useful program to aid in the seamless texture creation process. Its meant to do one thing, and do it well. Load a image into TextureDesk and it will immediately load into the main view. By default this image is set to "auto reload" so any change you make in Photoshop will be updated automatically as soon as you save the image. Turn up the amount of tiling in X and Y and see your changes reflected in real time in front of you. TextureDesk lets you easily see how well an image tiles and gives you a real time platform for seeing your texture at multiple angles, and resolutions at the flick of a switch.

Use this button to search amongst thousands of free high res textures located at spectralogue.com/textures/. After hitting "Submit" TextureDesk will bring up your results in your default web browser (internet connection required obviously).

"Tiling X" will modify the amount your main texture is tiled horizontally. You will notice when using this slider the main texture will grow in width. Try a high X value and a low Y value if you are working on a fence texture or a very wide wall. "Tiling Y" does the same thing as tiling X but vertically.

The reload button will reload the image you opened and show the changes immediately. If you click on "Auto Reload" TextureDesk will keep an eye on your texture and reload automatically any time it sees it has been re-saved.

Click on this and TextureDesk will stay above all other programs even when it is not selected. This is very useful for working in photoshop on a texture and seeing your changes as quickly as possible.

The Resolution slider is used to modify the resolution of your file in TextureDesk. This slider will NOT modify the actual texture, it will just show you the texture at lower resolutions. This is very helpful if you are making a texture for a lower end game consol or if you are trying to save texture space by downsizing textures and you want to see how it will look.
